INTRODUCING OUR EMERGENCY PHONE RESPONSE SYSTEM

Hello This is Ken Heard, the President of the Logan RSL Sub Branch. You might already know we are a non-funded charitable organisation formed to look after the welfare of our members. We also contribute to the general community that has given us so much. No we aren't the type of club which has Poker Machines,Bars,TAB and so on.We are here purely to look after the welfare of the ex service and current serving members of our armed forces, and the community in general. We who work at the club are all volunteers who do the job without pay.The club does not receive any monetary support from any tier of Government. Many years ago we recognized that many of our members although elderly or infirmed were living independently in their own homes. The problem for them was that if they had a fall, an accident or some other problem arose, they had no means of calling out for help. To solve their dilemma we had to determine the criteria around which our system was to be based. We looked at all of the systems which are available in the market place. Above all the system had to be :- a) Simple to operate b) Simple to install into the home c) Extremely reliable d) A system which needed only one action to get help from an outside source e) We must be able to respond immediately to our client needs. We looked at both monitored and unmonitored services. We decided that a monitored system was the right way to go. To keep our costs down and pass on any savings to our clients we then extended our services to the general community. Look, we know that there are dialling systems in the market place which are not monitored, but, unless the Emergency Phone Response unit (of any type), is answered effectively it can actually be a hindrance to getting the immediate assistance that you require. Yes, the unmonitored system might be cheaper but is it any good in a crisis? Being ex servicemen, we know that not everyone is good at responding to a crisis. Once an unmonitored dialler has made a call and been answered it stops dialling out. As an example; whilst you are on the floor in pain, do you really want to rely on the answerer to be able to arrange for emergency assistance for you? (Your first answerer could be your 6 year old grandchild). At this point you have just introduced a delay in getting the service that you require. With our monitored Emergency Phone Response System: Every call will be answered by a well-trained and compassionate Emergency Phone Responder, 24 Hours 7 days a week. Our Operators will: • always ask how they can help • listen and treat you with respect, empathy and courtesy • do everything they can to help solve your problem • encourage regular contact to ensure you can and will use the alarm in an emergency With our monitored Emergency Phone Response system, you are renting the unit from the RSL Sub Branch and paying a monthly monitoring fee. The unit belongs to the Logan RSL Sub Branch but the Monitoring is carried out by the professionals at the Tunstal Call Centre. The benefit of this arrangement is that, the EPR machine is the most reliable and simple to operate one available and in the unlikely event that anything goes wrong with the, unit we will replace it Free of Charge on the same day. (Of course if the damage has been caused wilfully a charge will occur). We even supply and fit new back up batteries Free of Charge. You are without the system for the minimal amount of time. Now, if you owned an unmonitored system, in most situations even whilst the machine is under warranty, for one year the unit will be replaced Free of Charge but is not be covered for:- 1. Accidental damage, power surge damage, acts of God, failure due to misuse, abuse, incorrect installation, negligence or non-observance of regulations on the part of the owner, or attempts to repair other than by an the manufacturers approved service agent. 2. Until the fault is correctly ascertained by the manufacturer or supplier, they will not usually send another nor will they accept liability for any freight or transportation costs or for any damage during transit. All freight charges must initially be borne by the owner of the goods. 3. You are without a unit until you receive one back by post. and 4. At the end of the warranty period you are entirely responsible for all costs associated with its maintenance and repair. With our system, it is effective, it is reliable, it works and best of all you have no worries about it. Do you worry about the prospect of being alone when an emergency occurs? . You’ve had a fall . A fire has started . Someone is trying to break in . You just feel insecure Our simple to operate system is designed to assist you immediately. The alarm button comes in the form of a water resistant pendant. It is small in size and lightweight and can be worn around your neck.
